Au cœur de la démarche de Christine Mathieu se trouve un processus d’observation et d’apprentissage développé au fil de nombreuses résidences menées au sein de collections de musées d’histoire et d’ethnographie, où elle engage un dialogue avec les objets. Parallèlement à sa pratique artistique, elle travaille également comme commissaire d’exposition, prolongeant sa réflexion à travers des projets qui rassemblent les œuvres d’autres artistes contemporains, des artefacts anciens prêtés par des institutions, ainsi que ses propres créations autour des thématiques et questionnements qui traversent son travail.

Central to Mathieu's approach is a process of observation and learning developed during multiple residencies in the collections of history and ethnographic museums, where she enters in dialogue with the objects. Working in parallel as a curator, she pursues her reflection through exhibitions that bring together the work of other contemporary artists, ancient artefacts borrowed from institutions and her own work around the themes and questions that animate her own practice.
